Whistler Community Members Invited to Join OCP Advisory Group

April 26, 2010... The Resort Municipality of Whistler (RMOW) is currently seeking  four committed citizens to join a Community Advisory Group, which will be actively involved in the update of Whistler's Official Community Plan over the next year. This group will advise RMOW staff and ensure alignment with Whistler2020, Whistler's comprehensive sustainability plan.

The Community Advisory Group will include 20 Whistler citizens:

• 15 Whistler2020 community task force representatives
• Four community members appointed by RMOW Council
• One youth representative (13-18)

The OCP Community Advisory Group will meet four times over the next year for four hours each. Read the complete Terms of Reference for the OCP Community Advisory Group.

You must be a Whistler resident or taxpayer to apply for one of the four community seats, which will be appointed by RMOW Council. To apply, please:

• Write a letter to Council (max. 500 words).
• Include your name, address, phone number, and email address.
• Include any specific skills or experience you would bring to the OCP Community Advisory Group.
• Most importantly, answer the question, "What does Whistler mean to you?"
